To me, taking a responsible risk means to take an action that leads to a possibly or highly bad consequence but if succeeded in carrying out the action a something great will be rewarded in return.
A memorable calorimeter experiment which was conducted to determine the amount of energy contained within a piece of lays chip. This experiment, the set up which my group and i had discussed together to make consisted of a unfolded paper clip taped to foil at one end and piereced through the chip at the other. It wasn't a highly safe set up, as at times the paper clip would fall to the side and one of the members would have to try and put it back in place. This wasn't dangerous to me, but my group members thought it was so everytime it tipped over i took the responsibility/risk of placing it back. I wanted my group members to try it but they never did, most of the time they even got scared by the fire. I thought this was fun, and that was my reward for taking the risk of putting it back in place. Everytime i did, i always succeeded in saving it from burning papaer towels, the table, and other things nearby. Eventually, i convinced my partners to try it, although, they did have some water on their hands just in case they don't put the paper clip back in place in time, the water will give them a few seconds before the fire really catches up with their skin.
